RAFAH, (PIC)--

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) raided, at dawn Friday, the Nahdha and the Matar (airport) neighborhoods of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources.

Eyewitnesses told PIC correspondent that about 20 Israeli occupation military vehicles that came from the IOF positions at the Sofa and Karm Abu Salem border crossings invaded the said neighborhoods amidst heavy firing with helicopter cover.

Residents also reported that the invading Israeli occupation forces were involved in bulldozing lands, house raids, and detention of residents. Some of the homes were turned into military posts.

Palestinian resistance fighters clashed with the invading force, according to locals who reported hearing gunfire and explosions in the area.

Meanwhile, the Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, reported that its fighters fired, Friday at dawn, two home made missiles at IOF positions at the Karm Abu Salem border crossing, saying that the firing of the rockets was a natural response to IOF ongoing atrocities against the Palestinian people.
