Hamas: IOF aggression on Gaza fruit of secret Abbas-Olmert agreement

[ 27/06/2007 - 02:47 PM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

Hamas Movement has affirmed that the ongoing Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) military aggression on Gaza Strip was the fruit of a secret agreement between the PA chief Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli premier Ehud Olmert to hit the infrastructure of the Palestinian resistance.

“Abbas’s branding of the legitimate Palestinian resistance against the occupation as terrorism on TV screens, and his successive decrees outlawing Palestinian resistance factions gave the green light for Olmert’s army to carry out the onslaught on Gaza and the West Bank”, said Hammad Al-Rokob, the spokesman of Hamas in southern Gaza Strip, on Wednesday.

He also affirmed that “the fig leaf has fallen and exposed those conspiring against the Palestinians' national constants in return for a handful of dollars”, affirming that there was a kind of coordination between IOF troops and Abbas to sweep areas in Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Abbas issued a number of decrees Tuesday banning all armed resistance factions in the West Bank.

But Rokob affirmed that the Qassam Brigades and the free resistance factions will continue the march of liberation to the last drop of their blood without paying attention to “abnormal” voices.

The Hamas’s spokesman furthermore underlined that fighters of Hamas and other resistance groups succeeded in blocking the IOF onslaught, and inflicted a number of casualties in the IOF troops’ lines.

Moreover, Rokob shrugged off Abbas’s labeling of his PA security apparatuses as “legitimate”, underscoring that documents seized by Hamas fighters from those security apparatuses in Gaza prove beyond reasonable doubt that they were far from being legitimate.

Finally, Rokob was optimistic that Palestinian people in West Bank will reject the “treasons trend” living among them as Palestinian citizens in Gaza Strip did two weeks ago.

Hamas’s MP Dr. Salah Al-Bardaweel seconded Rokob’s remarks, affirming he doesn’t rule out Abbas’s approval of the IOF aggressions.

But he pointed out that the Israeli occupation government wasn’t solely relying on Abbas’s recommendation as it has it own calculations to the events, especially military adventures in Gaza Strip.

“We are full of confidence that victory will be ours, and Hamas knows very well how to deal with the IOF troops and beat them as it did over the past years, and thus the small army of Abbas allying itself with Israel will add no threat to the Palestinian resistance factions”, Bardaweel underlined.

In addition, the Hamas’s lawmaker condemned Abbas’s decree of dropping taxes on Gaza merchants and businessmen that used to go to the PA government, describing the edict as “political bribery”.

Yet, he affirmed that Hamas Movement will manage the matter on its own way with Allah’s help.

Similar remarks on Abbas’s possible involvement in the IOF military incursion in Gaza and the West Bank were also uttered by Dr. Mohammed Al-Agha, the agriculture minister in the legitimate PA caretaker government.
