Israeli security forces admit to 245 kidnappings in Gaza over the past year

The Israeli secret police, Shin Beit, has presented a report to the Law and Justice Committee of the Israeli Knesset, admitting to the kidnapping of 245 Palestinians residents in the Gaza Strip over the past 11 months.

In contravention to international law, the report stated that "Shin Beit uses the interim orders which allow them to arrest residents of the Gaza Strip, despite the Israeli withdrawal and the abolition of military rule."

THE WEST BANK, June 7, 2007, (WAFA)- 

Israeli Occupation Forces kidnapped Thursday eight citizens and seized two houses in the West Bank, security sources said.

The sources said Israeli troops kidnapped eight citizens in different cities in Nablus, Tulkarem and Bethlehem.

In the meantime, Israeli soldiers seized two houses in Hebron and turned them into military posts, security sources and witnesses said.

Witnesses told WAFA that Israeli soldiers Israeli soldiers stormed the houses of Arafat Tamimi and Saber Abu Snaineh and positioned the roofs.
