Israeli tanks kill Palestinian child, injure two others in Gaza

Shrapnel from an Israeli occupation tank shell killed a five-year-old Palestinian child and injured two others in Al-Buraij refugee camp in the Gaza Strip on Sunday afternoon, witnesses and medics said.

Palestinian medical sources identified the deceased child as Abdullah Bhar.

Witnesses said that Israeli occupation helicopters are flying over the central Gaza Strip.

On Saturday, Israeli occupation soldiers shot and killed a 35-year-old Palestinian farmer in the northern Gaza Strip.

Israeli officer wounded in Qabatiya incursion

An Israeli occupation military officer was injured during an incursion in the West Bank town of Qabatiya near Jenin on Saturday, the Israeli occupation army announced.

According to the Israeli army, the officer was shot during a gunbattle with Palestinian fighters in Qabatiya. They said the officer only mildly wounded.

The military wing of Islamic Jihad, the Al-Quds Brigades, said their fighters clashed with invading Israeli occupation forces and injured one officer.

The Israeli occupation forces invaded Qabatia on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians suspected of political or military activity. Residents of the town said the Israeli occupation troops damaged furniture in the houses they searched.

A five-year-old child killed by Israeli gunfire in central Gaza Strip

Palestinian medical sources in the central Gaza Strip town of Dair El-Balah, announced that a five-year-old child was killed on Sunday by Israeli occupation army gunfire in the central Gaza Strip refugee camp of Al-Buraij.

Abdullah Bahar, 5, arrived as a dead body at the Shuhada aL-Aqsa hospital in Dair El-Balah, as he sustained several shrapnel into various parts of his head and body, the sources said.

The medics confirmed that four other inhabitants were also injured by the Israeli occupation army fire.

Witnesses said that an Israeli occupation army force, made up of a column of tanks, incurred today afternoon to the east of aL-Buraij refugee camp, just close to the Gaza-Israel border line.

Witnesses added that the incurring force opened heavy fire at Palestinian-inhabited houses in the area, before it rolled back to positions inside the Israeli borders.

Recently, the Israeli occupation army has intensified small-scale ground offensives on different parts of the border lines with the Gaza Strip, claiming last week alone the lives of four Palestinians, at least.
