3 Israeli Soldiers, 5 Palestinians Killed, Including 3 Children Killed in Gaza Strip Raids

Aljazeera tv reported at 2:00 pm ET, April 9, 2008, that five Palestinians were killed, fifteen were injured in several Israeli air raids and shelling of Gaza Strip.

Gaza: three Palestinian civilians and two Israelis killed in two separate attacks

Three Palestinian civilians and two Israelis were killed on Wednesday afternoon in two deferent attacks in and near the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian sources reported that three Palestinian civilians including two children were killed and another five injured when Israeli tanks shelled a Palestinian home located in the eastern part of Gaza city.

Meanwhile Israeli sources said that two Israelis were killed when a group of Palestinian resistance fighters attacked the Nahal Oz crossing and the nearby fuel depot, located on the eastern Israeli Gaza borders.

Three Palestinian resistance groups based in Gaza, Al-Quds Brigades of the Islamic Jihad, Al-Aqsa Brigades of Fatah, and the Popular Resistance Committees, claimed responsibility for the attack and said that it comes in response to the Israeli attacks and siege imposed on Gaza.

Four Palestinians, including three children killed in Gaza by Israeli fire

Four Palestinians, including 3 children were killed when Israeli occupation warplanes launched a missile at a car in the Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City.

Ma'an's reporter said Israeli warplanes and tanks fired several missiles at Palestinian houses across the Gaza Strip resulting in a number of casualties.

Director of the Al-Shifa medical centre in Gaza City Dr Ra'id Areini said that the center received three dead bodies including two children, as well as six wounded, four of them children.

Two Israeli soldiers dead after Palestinian fighters raid Nahal Oz crossing

Two Israelis were killed on Wednesday when Palestinian fighters entered the Gaza Strip's Nahal Oz crossing point and began shooting at the Israelis, Israeli media reported.

Abu Mujahid, the spokesperson of the armed wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, the Al-Nasser Salah Addin Brigades, claimed that three Israeli soldiers were killed in the raid. He said that the aim of the operation was to abduct Israeli soldiers.

Israeli officials said that no Israelis were abducted.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes launched a missile at a car in the Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City. Fierce fighting is also taking place between Palestinian fighters and Israeli troops east of Gaza City.

The military wing of Islamic Jihad, the Al-Quds Brigades, also claimed responsibility for the shooting near Nahal Oz.

Nahal Oz terminal is the Gaza Strip's main crossing point for liquid fuels.

Earlier on Wednesday, one Hamas fighter and one Israeli soldier were killed after Israeli soldiers invaded the Gaza Strip near the city of Khan Younis.
