Tuesday August 12, 2008 12:37 by Rula Shahwan - IMEMC News

A group of Israeli settlers attacked houses and a mosque in the West Bank city of Al-Khalil (Hebron), and attempted to set the mosque on fire, as reported by local sources.

The illegal Israeli settlers attacked both local civilians and international peace activists inside the mosque, and showered them with garbage. Eye witnesses reported that the settlers climbed onto the roof of the mosque and attempted to set it on fire. They also harassed civilians and forcibly grabbed video cameras from international photographers present at the attack.

Another group of armed illegal Israeli settlers attacked the nearby Wadi Al-Nassara village, by attempting to break into houses in the village and harass local civilians. They were reported to have caused considerable damage to some of the properties attacked.
