Palestinians Call for International Campaign to Counter Israeli Judaization Schemes in Occupied Jerusalem

Awkaf ministry: Inter'l campaign on Jerusalem counters judaization schemes

[ 20/08/2008 - 10:51 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

Dr. Abdullah Jarbo'a, the caretaker government's Awkaf undersecretary announced that the international popular campaign in support of Jerusalem will start on Thursday 21/8/2008 to coincide with the 39th anniversary of the arson attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest Islamic shrine in the world, at the hands of a Jewish fanatic.

He told Al-Aqsa satellite TV on Tuesday that the campaign was also meant to counter the feverish Israeli campaign to judaize the holy city.

Jarbo'a said that the two-week campaign would include collecting signatures of millions of supporters for the Palestinian cause worldwide.

He said that the latest Israeli crimes against Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem was the discovery of a 300-meter long tunnel underneath the holy site, which is dug adjacent to other ones and could threaten the foundations of the Mosque.

Jarbo'a described as a "crime" what the Israelis are doing to the holy site, and charged the world with collusion through its silence over what is happening. He noted that the world decries the demolition or partial destruction of an ancient wall while remaining silent when it comes toAl-Aqsa Mosque.

Hamas calls on Islamic masses to go on angry marches in solidarity with Al-Aqsa Mosque

[ 20/08/2008 - 04:52 PM ]

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

The Hamas Movement called Wednesday on the Arab and Islamic masses to go on angry massive marches and organize popular events to express their solidarity with Al-Aqsa Mosque and occupied Jerusalem which are being exposed to an unprecedented fierce judaization attack.

In a statement issued on the anniversary of the Israeli arson attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque and a copy of which received by the PIC, Hamas said that the Palestinian resistance's options are open to retaliate to the judaization campaign against the holy Mosque and city.

The statement also urged Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, and the resistance factions to get prepared to head to the West Bank and Jerusalem to cleanse them from the Israeli desecration.

It strongly denounced the PA in Ramallah for its persistence in holding meetings and talks with Israel despite its assaults on the holy Mosque and city, describing PA negotiations as an umbrella used to waive the Palestinian people's rights and constants and under which the last link in the conspiracy chain is now being woven against the Islamic holy shrines in Jerusalem.

Hamas underlined that the Zionist scheme to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque is no longer revolving around an individual orbit or Zionist extremist groups as claimed by the former Israeli government, but all facts now indicate that the Israeli government is working seriously to demolish the Mosque.

The statement called on the Arab and Islamic leaders, the organization of the Islamic conference and Arab League to assume their responsibilities towards Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque and to urgently move in all international conferences and forums to demand an end to the grave excavations below and around the Mosque.

During his meeting with Dr. Taleb Abu Sha'ar, the minister of religious affairs, Dr. Ahmed Bahar, the acting speaker of the PLC, warned Wednesday the Israeli occupation of indulging in its judaization scheme against Al-Aqsa Mosque, adding that the diggings were threatening the very existence of the holy site.

For his part, Dr. Abu Shaar said that his ministry will declare tomorrow the beginning of the international popular campaign to support Al-Aqsa Mosque.
