Yaqen.net reported the following news today:

- 2 Iraqi soldiers were killed in Baghdad.

- A policeman was killed by a bomb near Tikrit.

The Iraq News Agency (INA) reported the following today:

- 4 bodies were found in Baghdad.

- 14 were killed in Mosul by a suicide bomber in a bus going to Syria.

- A Sahwa Brigadier Khamis Al-Zoaba'ai was killed in an attack in Ba'aqouba.

Unidentified body found in Baghdad

Baghdad, Feb 26, (VOI)-

Iraqi police patrols found one unknown body on Tuesday in Baghdad, an interior ministry source said.
"The unknown body was found in Jisr Diala region in southeastern Baghdad," the source, who requested anonymity, told Aswat al-Iraq - Voices of Iraq (VOI).
"The body had gunshot wounds to different parts of the body," he explained.

3 cops killed, wounded by car bomb blast in Mosul

Mosul, Feb 26, (VOI) -

A policeman was killed and two more were wounded on Tuesday in a car bomb explosion in eastern Mosul, the official spokesman for the Ninewa operations said.
"A booby-trapped car went off targeting a police vehicle patrol near al-Barawi intersection in al-Maared region in eastern Mosul, killing a policeman and injuring two others," Brigadier Khaled Abdul Sattar Saadon told Aswat al-Iraq - Voices of Iraq - (VOI).
Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.

2 Sahwa fighters killed in attack in Huweija

Kirkuk, Feb 26, (VOI) –

Two members of the Sahwa (Awakening) tribal fighters were killed on Tuesday during an attack by unidentified gunmen that targeted a checkpoint in al-Huweija district, 70 km southwest of Kirkuk, police said.

Eight Iraqi soldiers killed in Diala attack

Diala, Feb 26, (VOI)-

At least eight Iraqi army troops, including an officer, were killed when unknown gunmen attacked their patrol in Diala, central Iraq, a security source said on Tuesday. 

"Unknown gunmen from al-Qaeda Organization launched an attack last night against an Iraqi army patrol in Buhruz district, killing eight troops," the source, who requested anonymity, told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq- (VOI). The source added "among the killed was an army officer with the rank of Major." Diala is 57 km northeast of Baghdad. SK

Gunmen kill soldier, kidnap relative near Kirkuk

Kirkuk, Feb 26, (VOI) –

Unidentified gunmen on Tuesday killed an Iraqi soldier and kidnapped his relative in central Touz Khormato district, 85 km southwest of Kirkuk, police said. 

"Unidentified gunmen attacked a house on Tuesday, killing an Iraqi army soldier and kidnapping one of his relatives in central Touz Khormato district," a security source, who declined to be named, told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq – (VOI).

"The gunmen detonated four hand grenades, causing severe damage to the house," the source added, not revealing the motives behind the attack. AE
