25 Iraqis Killed, Including 15 Executed by Death Squads, 3 Family Members Killed by US Forces, According to February 6, 2008 News Reports

Yaqen.net news agency reported the following today:

- British military command in Basra airport was hit with three katyousha rockets. British helicopters raided Al-Hussain neighborhood in the afternoon.

- A group of gunmen attacked the 160 police station on the Baghdad-Amman Highway. They controlled the station, tied the policemen, destroyed the building, then untied the policemen and let them go freely, threatening them not to join police forces again, otherwise they would be killed in the future.

- Intelligence officer, Colonel Thabet Ahmed, announced in Tikrit that three people from one family were killed when their house was destroyed in a US air raid on south Tikrit today. This is the second raid on the early, where four family members were killed by US forces yesterday.

- 4 bodies of Iraqis executed by death squads were found in Baghdad. (Aljazeera tv reported 15 bodies, at 3:30 pm ET15, found in Iraq as a whole).

- A US Humvee was destroyed between Baghdad and Beiji, the announcement was signed by the General Command of the (former) Iraqi Army.

Four family members killed, injured near Kirkuk

Kirkuk, Feb 6, (VOI)-

A woman was killed and three others of the same family were injured on Wednesday in a bomb blast near their civilian car southwest of Kirkuk,
A police source said.

"An improvised explosive device went off targeting a civilian car on the main road between Touz Khormato, southwest of Kirkuk, and Kirkuk city, killing a woman and injuring three from the same family," the source told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq (VOI) on condition of anonymity.
"The blast caused some material damage to their vehicle," he also said.

"The body was sent to the forensic medicine department, while the wounded were rushed to the Kirkuk public hospital for treatment," he explained.
Kirkuk is 250 km northeast of Baghdad.

Two cops killed, three wounded in Mosul

Mosul, Feb 6, (VOI)-

Two policemen, including an officer, were killed and three others, including a civilian, were injured on Wednesday morning in an armed attack on a police vehicle patrol in western Mosul, a police source said.

"Unknown gunmen attacked a police vehicle patrol in Bab Sinjar region in western Mosul, killing two policemen, including a lieutenant, and wounding three, including a civilian," the source, who asked anonymity, told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq (VOI).
Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.

Explosion wounds four in Diala

Four people were wounded on Wednesday when a roadside bomb went off targeting a civilian car in Khalis, Diala province, said a police source.
"An improvised explosive device exploded targeting a civilian car near al-Hashimiyat village in Khalis, injuring four people, including three women," the source, who asked to be unnamed, told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq (VOI).
Baaquba, the capital of Diala, is 57 km northeast of Baghdad.

6 civilians injured in two attacks in Baghdad

Baghdad, Feb 6, (VOI)-

Three civilians were injured in a roadside bomb explosion on Wednesday afternoon in central Baghdad, while three more were wounded when a mortar shell landed on a park in the eastern section of the Iraqi capital, said a police source.
"An explosive charge, planted by unidentified gunmen on the main road near al-Karada neighborhood in central Baghdad, was detonated, injuring three civilians," the source told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq (VOI).

"Security forces sealed off the region and rushed the wounded to the nearby Ibn al-Nafees hospital for treatment," he added.
Meanwhile, a police source said that three civilians, including a woman, were wounded when a mortar round hit the eastern Baghdad's park.

"The attack on Rayhana Park in Ziyouna-Dubat region in eastern Baghdad left two civilians and a woman wounded," he explained,

IED leaves 13 casualties in Diwaniya

At least four civilians were killed and nine more were injured on Wednesday when an improvised explosive device went off targeting a Polish vehicle patrol in central Diwaniya, an official security source said.

"A roadside bomb exploded targeting a Polish vehicle patrol in al-Aourouba neighborhood in central Diwaniya, killing four civilians, including two children and a woman, and wounding nine others, including seven emergency police elements," Colonel Ghassan Mouhammad told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq (VOI).

He accused al-Sadr's office in Diwaniya of launching this attack.
For his part, director of al-Sadr's office in the city Usama Mussawi told the VOI "the Sadrist bloc has nothing to do with the blast and al-Mahdi army fighters are abide by orders issued by Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr on freezing their activities."

"Al-Sadr supports security forces in Diwaniya," he explained.
About 900 Polish soldiers are stationed in Diwaniya within the Multi-National Force (MNF).
Diwaniya is 180 km south of Baghdad.
