Israeli Occupation Forces bar thousands of Palestinians from praying in Al-Aqsa Mosque, deny patients treatment

[ 26/01/2008 - 08:42 AM ]

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

IOF troops on Friday cordoned off the occupied city of Jerusalem to block entry of Palestinians into the Aqsa Mosque fearing demonstrations after the Friday prayers in solidarity with the besieged Gaza Strip.

The occupation forces were deployed in big numbers on all West Bank roadblocks leading to occupied Jerusalem while the occupation policemen were also deployed inside the Old City of Jerusalem to block whoever managed to sneak through the barriers from entering the Aqsa Mosque.

Many Palestinians were forced to offer the Friday prayers in the streets and suburbs of the holy city.

The Israeli occupation authority barred Palestinians less than 40 years old from reaching the Aqsa Mosque.

The occupation police claimed having "intelligence information" that "hostile elements" would exploit the congregation to "stir up riots" in protest over the Gaza siege.

Palestinian citizens expressed utter dismay for not being able to reach the holy site.

Two more Palestinians die in Gaza due to inability to travel for treatment

[ 26/01/2008 - 02:25 PM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

A Palestinian citizen and a baby girl suffering serious illnesses died in Gaza on Friday evening due to the tight IOFs siege that blocks travel of any Palestinian out of the Strip even for medical treatment.

Medical sources said that the 10-year-old Faten Al-Hifnawi and Musleh Kalaja were proclaimed dead after long suffering from serious illnesses.

The death of the two raised to 82 the number of victims of the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip. Hundreds other seriously ill Palestinians fear a similar fate in the event Israel continued to block their travel outside the besieged Strip.
