Israel launches two air strikes on Gaza

Israeli warplanes launched two attacks on Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning, witnesses and medics said. No injuries were reported in either attack.

In the northern Gaza Strip, Israeli planes fired missiles at Palestinian fighters near Gaza's eastern border. No injuries were reported.

In a second strike in the southern Gaza Strip, witnesses said the Israeli air force bombed Palestinian fighters in the Al-Samiri area, east of the city of Khan Younis.

While Israeli warplanes bombed Gaza from the air, witnesses said that Israeli tanks are stationed on the ground inside the eastern border of the Strip, shelling Palestinian areas "at random."

Ten Palestinians injured, as the Israeli occupation army invades Bethlehem

Ten Palestinians were injured when Israeli occupation troops invaded the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem on Saturday afternoon.

IMEMC correspondent in Bethlehem Ghassan Bannoura reported that at least 14 Israeli military jeeps invaded the city and surrounded the house of Muadh Abu Aker family.

Abu Aker is claimed wanted by the Israeli occupation army, for being involved with the Palestinian armed resistance groups.

Clashes between local youth and the invading troops erupted nearby Dehaisheh refugee camp. Palestinian youth hurled stones at the Israeli occupation forces jeeps, while troops responded with tear gas and rubber-coated steel bullets injuring ten civilians, one seriously.

Eyewitnesses told IMEMC that a 17-year old boy was shot in the head and was taken to Beit Jala hospital for treatment. Additionally and elderly woman was treated for gas inhalation. Troops left the area after they broke into the house and realized that Abu Aker is not there.

However, they ransacked one house and smashed the glass of the windows of two apartments in the building.

The mother of Abu Aker told IMEMC that her son is only a child and has no political affiliation, she said that his father was a resistance man but "Muadh is just a boy".

The sister of Abu Aker, Majd, 15 years old, said that troops forced the family to the street then soldiers attacked her and her mother.

She added that soldiers gave them a military orders saying that if their son do not surrender him self to the army by the 16th of June, all the family will be adducted by the army, and their son will be killed.

Jalal Humaid, a Palestinian Cameraman who works for the Al-Ro'ah "Shepherds" TV- - a local TV station in Bethlehem said that troops forced all the staff and him in a room and did not allow them to leave until the army finished its operation.

Al-Ro'ah TV headquarters is located in the same building where the Abu Aker family lives.

Israeli occupation soldiers kidnap 4 Palestinians across the West Bank
   
Ramallah, June 14, 2008 (RNA) -

The Israeli occupation army kidnapped on Saturday morning four Palestinian civilians in various areas across the West Bank, Palestinian security sources said.
 
The sources added that the Israeli army broke into Salfit village western Nablus city and launched search and arrest campaign, arresting Raed Shuqair 29 and Sabah Al-Ghazawi 22.
 
In the meantime, Israeli soldiers stormed several houses in Qalqilia city in the West Bank and arrested Iyad Sabri 19 and Ahmed Khalil 28, without indication the arrest reasons, local sources said.

Hamas says Beit Lahia Thursday casualties were killed in internal explosion

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, stated on Friday that the eight residents, including a child, who were killed in Beit Lahia on Thursday died due to a technical error, as an explosive charge being prepared prematurely exploded while in final stages of preparation, the Arabs48 news website reported.

The group stated that the fighters were finalizing the preparation of explosive charges which were meant to be used in attacks against the Israeli occupation forces.  .

The fighters were preparing explosive charges in the house of Majid Hammouda who was killed in the blast along with his little daughter, Nour.

The rest of the casualties were leaders of the Brigades, they were identified as;

-  Ashraf  Naim Moshtaha.

- Hassan Muhammed Abu Shaqfa.

- Muhammed Sabri Abu Al-Naja.

- Muhammed Hamdan Miqdad.

- Ahmed Moneer Subaih.
