Israeli PM Olmert Okays New Illegal Settlements in Occupied Jerusalem, Incites US to Attack Iran, Gets US F-35 Jets

Olmert to get warplanes from US, wants to convince US to attack Iran

Date: 03 / 06 / 2008  Time:  14:14
Jerusalem - Ma’an -

Israeli sources revealed on Tuesday that the Israeli occupation government prime minister, Ehud Olmert, is in the US to sign a deal to (get) new war planes and a long range missile defense system.

Olmert has presented the US administration with a long shopping list of military hardware, including F-35 Planes. It is highly likely that US President George W. Bush will agree to the (package, which is usually given for free to the Israeli occupation government, part of the lucrative annual US aid bonanza).

When he arrived in the US, Olmert said that he was there to convince the US to prevent Iran from attaining nuclear weapons. Olmert is afraid that the next US president will shy away from a military attack on Iran.

Israel will deliver intelligence information to the US that go against what US intelligence is reporting. Olmert aims to convince Washington of Iran’s nuclear capability.

Olmert is to meet with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Tuesday and will head to the White House on Wednesday.

He will stay in the US until Friday evening where he is scheduled to meet with the three US presidential candidates, John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama (Why do they compete to meet a foreign leader?).

The sources said that Olmert will also meet with the leaders of the organization which controls the US foreign policy makers, the Israeli-American Political Action Committee (IAPAC).

The Israeli PM Okays new settlements in Jerusalem

Tuesday June 03, 2008 14:52 by Ghassan Bannoura - IMEMC News

On Tuesday the Israeli housing minister Ze'ev Boim told media that the Israeli occupation government  prime minister, Ehod Olmert, has approved plans to build 884 new housing units for settlers in east Jerusalem.

Boim said that Olmert had approved the project before leaving for the USA  on Monday night for talks with President Bush regarding joint defense issues to counter the Iran nuclear program.

Israel published the new plan on Monday which is yet another violation of International Law.

The White House and United Nations expressed concerns over the Israel's plan to build 844 new homes for illegal Israeli settlers in occupied East Jerusalem.

Dana Perino, White House spokeswoman, stated that the Unites States does not believe that more settlements should be built as this issue creates tension in peace talks with Palestinians (However, contrary to the lip service, the Bush administration is expected to give Olmert all kinds of military and economic aid he asks for, as it did all along).

She added that the expansion of existing settlements in East Jerusalem is  part of the problem as Palestinians feel that Israel is not serious about peace  and that it  “is not acting in good faith”.

United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, also expressed deep concern over the issue and added that the Israeli government has not halted settlement construction in the occupied Palestinian territory, which violates  international law and Israel’s commitments to the Road Map peace plan and the Annapolis summit.
