GAZA, (PIC)--

Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians demonstrated in the Gaza Strip after the Friday prayers to protest against the latest Israeli massacres that resulted in the death of thirty five Palestinians and the wounding of many others.

Hamas called on Thursday for mass demonstrations which took place in Gaza city, the northern and central Gaza Strip as well as in the southern Gaza Strip.

Demonstrators condemned the barbaric aggression against the people of the Gaza Strip and the murder of innocent women and children and condemned the Arab and International silence vis-à-vis the genocide being committed by the Israeli occupation the Gaza Strip.

Demonstrators carried 10 empty coffins, one for each of the children killed in the latest Israeli onslaught.

In the central demonstration in Gaza city, Dr. Khalil al-Hayya, a Hamas leader whose son was killed on Thursday in an Israeli airstrike spoke at the rally and said that Hamas is determined to continue with the resistance against the occupation even if that costs the lives of its leaders or their sons.

Hayya also said that despite the fact that there are those who want to depict the Palestinian issue as one of food and medicine, Hamas insists that the issue is one of  a people aspiring for freedom and rights that should be restored.
