Khudari asks for immediate medical aid to beleaguered Gaza

[ 01/03/2008 - 03:12 PM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

MP Jamal Al-Khudari on Saturday asked Arab and international relief and health organizations to extend urgent medical assistance and fuel to the Gaza Strip, warning of the serious health condition as a result of the IOF ongoing aggression.

Khudari in a press release said that the situation in Gaza is "very serious", the martyrs and the wounded are falling every moment in the Strip due to the Zionist aggression.

Many of the wounded are in critical conditions as a result of the indiscriminate Zionist shelling of civilian homes, he elaborated.

The ministry of health in the PA caretaker government in Gaza warned in an urgent statement that the entire health sector in the Strip was in danger of "imminent collapse" due to the escalating Zionist aggression.

It added that the IOF siege on Gaza led to acute shortages in medical equipment, medicine and staff.

For its part, a health charity society in northern Gaza announced that it ran out of medical stocks necessary to extend aid to the injured, and appealed for immediate assistance.

The IOF ongoing aggression on the Strip claimed the lives of more than 60 Palestinians since Wednesday half of them fell today (Saturday) while around 200 others were wounded. About one third of the victims were children.
