Palestinians, all Arabs, and Muslims legitimate owners of Jerusalem, says Mesha'al

[ 07/09/2008 - 10:05 AM ]

DAMASCUS, (PIC)--

Khaled Mesha'al, the head of the Hamas political bureau, stated Saturday that the Palestinian people, all Arabs, and Muslims are the legitimate owners of Jerusalem, highlighting that there is no nation eligible to be in charge of it except Arabs because they are the hosts to cater for divine religions and holy places.

During a reception held by the international Quds institution on the occasion of inaugurating its branch in Syria, Mesha'al added that it is unbecoming to make occupied Jerusalem a door to capitulation, inferiority and compromises as some people do today.

The Hamas leader underlined that there is no Palestinian, Arab or Muslim leader, no matter how much influential he is, is able to sign an agreement relinquishing Jerusalem. He stressed that Jerusalem is exposed to a conspiracy on the ground represented in the apartheid wall, judaization, settlement expansion and excavations and to another conspiracy represented in wasting Jerusalem through negotiations.

For his part, Basil Gad'an, the head of the administrative council of the institution's branch, opined that Damascus will remain the gate to Jerusalem as Jerusalem is the gate to heaven, hailing everyone who contributed to the opening of the institution branch in Syria.

For her part, Dr. Buthaina Sha'aban, the head of the institution's trustees council in Syria and Syrian presidential advisor, said that it is natural to open a branch for the institution in Syria because the Syrian government is known for its keenness on the Arab nation's issues.

She stressed the need to get rid of the Zionist propaganda and sensitize the Arab generations that they are victorious, vowing that Syria will be working on supporting the steadfastness of Jerusalem and its people.
