OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

Israeli Jewish settlers on Sunday stormed the Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem and offered rituals while roaming the holy site's plazas, the Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage said.

The foundation in a statement said that Israeli occupation police escorted the settlers while performing their Talmudic rituals.

It described the storming today as "unprecedented" since no Jewish groups are allowed to enter the Aqsa during the holy month of Ramadan.

The foundation charged that the step was an escalation on the part of the "Zionist regime", and called on Palestinians of the 1948 occupied Palestine and Jerusalem to intensify their presence in the holy site.

Al-Aqsa Foundation: Jewish Fundamentalists broke into the Al-Aqsa Mosque

Sunday August 23, 2009 13:01 by IMEMC & Agencies

A-Aqsa Foundation for Waqf (Endowment) and Heritage reported Sunday that a group of fundamental Israeli settlers broke into the Al-Aqsa Mosque from Al-Mughrabi Gate, toured in the area and prayed in the yards of the mosque.

The Foundation added that this step is very serious especially since its comes with the beginning Holy Month of Ramadan, while in the past Israel did not allow Jewish groups to enter the Al Aqsa Mosque area during Ramadan.

It considered this step as part of the Israeli plans against the mosque, and called on the Jerusalem Palestinians and the Arabs in the country to flock to the mosque and protect it.

Last Thursday, fundamental Jewish groups conducted ceremonies regarding their planned temple, which they want to ‘rebuild’ on the ruins of the mosque.

The groups also held a wedding ceremony in the mosque and took some of its sand.

They also held seminars on the archeology of the area and said that “all indicators and prophesies indicate that the Temple is under the mosque”.

Recently the Temple Institute, which advocates for ‘rebuilding’ the temple after demolishing the Al Aqsa Mosque, held a meeting for its members in the yard of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In its mission statement, the Temple Institute states that it will do it can to bring about the ‘rebuilding of the temple’. It adds that its main focus is to start the actual rebuilding of the temple. The group was founded in 1987.

Moussa slams Israel for allowing extremists to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque

[ 24/08/2009 - 10:08 AM ]

CAIRO, (PIC)--

Amr Moussa, the secretary-general of the Arab League strongly denounced Israel for allowing extremist Jewish groups to storm the Aqsa Mosque to perform religious rituals.

Moussa said that such acts were a precedent never happened since the occupation of east Jerusalem in 1967 and a flagrant violation of international law.

Extremist Jewish groups protected by Israeli policemen and soldiers had stormed Sunday morning the Aqsa Mosque and toured around the Mosque and performed some of their rituals.

The Aqsa foundation condemned this violation as an unprecedented step and an escalation and urged the Palestinian citizens in occupied Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied lands to frequent the Aqsa Mosque.

In another context, the Arab League head expressed hope that the next round of the inter-Palestinian dialog in Cairo to be held after the holy month of Ramadan would be the end of internal division.
