Israeli occupation forces shot two Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday afternoon, killing one of them.

The shooting took place in the Al-Atatra area north of the town of Beit Lahiya.

Mu’awiya Hassanain the head of Ambulance and Emergency Services in the Palestinian Health Ministry said that one critically injured man was taken in an ambulance to Kamal Udwan Hospital in northern Gaza.

Ambulances were unable to immediately reach the other man who lay on the ground bleeding and eventually died. Hassanain identified him as Ata Al-Hasoumi, 20. Medics told Reuters that the man was a farmer.

Israeli military sources told reporters that two “suspicious” people had approached the border with Israel and ignored warning shots.

Meanwhile, Israeli sources said that two projectiles were fired from the northern Gaza Strip into Israel. According to the news website Ynet, the projectiles landed near the Ashkelon Beach Regional Council. The same report states that one soldier was mildly wounded after sustaining a head injury while running for cover.

It is unclear whether the projectiles were homemade "Al-Qassam" rockets, or mortar shells. No Palestinian group has claimed responsibility for the reported attack, which was the first in two weeks.

 Jenin – Ma'an –

Israeli occupation forces kidnapped a Palestinian man from the northern West Bank town of Birqin, southwest of Jenin, on Monday morning, according to local Palestinian sources.

The detainee was identified as 25-year-old Munadil Mansour, who was seized from his home after Israeli occupation troops ransacked it.

The sources added that invading forces shouted through loudspeakers their demands that the family evacuate their home for inspection.

Separately, soldiers stormed Jenin city and its refugee camp, firing gunshots into the air. No arrests or injuries were reported in those incidents.

Israeli occupation forces raid Palestinian cities and towns on an almost nightly basis, seizing so-called wanted Palestinians for interrogation. Under Israeli law, it is legal to detain Palestinians for up to six months without charge.

On Thursday morning, soldiers raided the village of Bil’in and seized 48-year-old Muhammad Ibrahim Abu Rahmeh, vice president of the village council and member of the Popular Committee Against the Wall. Abu Rahmeh’s home was invaded shortly before 2am, ending with his arrest. His son, 14-year-old son Nashmi Mohammed Ibrahim Abu Rahmeh, was arrested on 15 August.

According to reports from the popular committee, about 25 soldiers with painted faces entered the village, and threw stun grenades at international activists in the village to witness the night raids. Internationals said they attempted to intervene to demand Abu Rahmeh's release, but were assaulted. Witnesses said soldiers knocked one woman to the ground and pulled another's hair.

A Palestinian cameraman's equipment was destroyed as he attempted to document the scene, he said. Forces then withdrew through empty fields with Abu Rahme, taking him inside jeeps waiting near the barrier.

Early on Tuesday morning, Israeli forces detained 26-year-old Nisrin Abu Zaina from her family home during a raid of the West Bank city of Tulkarem. Israeli occupation soldiers ransacked Abu Zaina's home at 2am, confiscating private photos and mobile phones, before they handcuffed the woman and took her to an unknown location.

This kidnapping came shortly after Abu Zeina was released from prison in 2007 after she served five and a half years in detention.
