Three brothers killed, eight wounded in Israeli shelling of Rafah border area

Palestinian medical sources reported that three brothers were killed, and ten residents were injured, in an Israeli occupation forces shelling that targeted the tunnels area in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Muawiya Abu Hassanen, head of the Emergency Unit at the Palestinian Ministry of health reported that Mansour Al Battekhy, 30, and his brothers Wael, 26, and Ibrahim, 34, were all killed when the army shelled a tunnel that was shelled by the army.

Majdi Al Baba, the administrative directors of Abu Yousef Al Najjar, stated that the bodies of the three brothers, and eight wounded residents were moved to the hospital. He added that rescue teams are still trying to locate residents believed to be trapped under the rubble.

116 Palestinians were killed in tunnel accidents, and more that 510 were injured since Israel imposed the siege on Gaza three years ago. This does not include residents killed in Israeli shelling targeting the tunnels.

Four killed, three wounded in an Israeli air strike in Rafah

Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported on Tuesday at dawn that four Palestinians were killed and three residents were injured in an Israeli air strike targeting Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The air strike targeted a border location known as the “Tunnels area”, Medics rushed to the scene to evacuate the casualties.

Israeli army sources reported that the shelling was carried out after Palestinian fighters fired three mortars at the Zikim area, south of Ashkelon; one soldier was wounded in his head.

The fate of ten Palestinians remains unknown after a tunnel collapsed on them on Tuesday at dawn in Rafah. Rescue efforts are ongoing.

On Monday at night, one resident identified as Sa’id Ata Al Hasoumi, 20, was killed and a 15-year old child was injured by Israeli fire north of Beit Lahia.

The Israeli occupation forces kidnap five civilians during morning invasions in the West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces kidnapped on Tuesday five Palestinian civilians during morning invasions targeting a number of west Bank communities.

Palestinian sources said that troops kidnapped three men from Qabalan village in northern West Bank, one from Jenin city also northern West Bank, in addition to one man from Ramallah city central west Bank. The Israeli army radio announced that the five men were taken to military detention camps for questioning and that they are on what the military calls its "Wanted List."
