Palestinian refugees from Iraq arrive in Slovakia

 Bethlehem – Ma’an –

Ninty-eight Palestinian refugees arrived in Slovakia onThursday from the Al-Walid refugee camp on the border of Iraq and Syria.

The United Nations sponsored the transfer to Slovakia, where they be housed in a temporary transit camp. Thousands of Palestinians who fled the war in Iraq have been stranded on the Iraq-Syria border.

According to Israeli reports, “Palestinian refugees will spend six months in Slovakia during which they will learn English, and then will be distributed among the countries that agreed to receive them where some of them will be heading to Australia, United States, Canada, and other countries.”
