NABLUS, (PIC)--

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Saturday rounded up seven Palestinians in various West Bank areas including a young woman near Nablus who was released from the jails of Mahmoud Abbas, the former PA chief and Fatah leader, recently.

Local sources said that Ghufran Al-Zamel used to work as a secretary in the independent Palestine newspaper before the Ramallah authority closed it down.

Four others were detained in Nablus along with two from Bil'in village in Ramallah district.

The Ahrar center for prisoners' studies and human rights denounced the IOF detention of Zamel, charging the IOF with targeting her family. It recalled that most of the family members were detained and Zamel's brother was killed by the IOF soldiers in 2004.

Fuad Al-Khafsh, the director of the Ahrar center, said that the detention of Zamel had increased the number of Palestinian female prisoners to 70 distributed on three prisons.

On Friday, an IOF military vehicle hit two Palestinian youths near Ramallah, medical sources said, adding that the two young men were hospitalized.

Local sources in Nablus district said that armed Jewish settlers attacked citizens' property south of Nablus city on Friday night, adding that the IOF soldiers arrested a Palestinian youth for trying to stop the settlers from destroying his family home.

RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired teargas canisters, sonic bombs and metal bullets to quell a peaceful march in Bil'in village, Ramallah district, protesting the separation wall that confiscated most of the village lands.

Coordinator of the popular anti-wall committee Abdullah Abu Rahma said that the IOF soldiers violently crushed the march wounding three Palestinians including a crippled man and a woman. He explained that a teargas canister directly hit the man and burnt his wheelchair.

Abu Rahma said that tens of the participants suffered from suffocation as a result of the intensified use of teargas bombs, and added that the IOF troops also used water cannons to spray the participants with contaminated water.

Hundreds of Bil'in residents and tens of foreign peace activists took part in the march that also grouped Qais Abu Laila, politburo member of the democratic front for the liberation of Palestine and member of the Palestinian legislative council.

The marchers chanted national slogans and called for unity.
