Extremist Israeli right-wingers place temple replica facing Al-Aqsa mosque

Friday August 07, 2009 11:06 by IMEMC & Agencies

A group of Israeli Jewish extremist right-wingers, including students of a Yeshiva, placed a replica of the claimed temple, in front of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, symbolizing (their wishful) destruction of the Mosque to rebuild the temple in its place.

The Al-Aqsa Waqf and Heritage Foundation issued a press release on Thursday stating that the replica was placed on top of a synagogue facing the Al-Aqsa mosque.

The Foundation considered this issue as a clear statement that fundamental groups are determined to demolish the mosque in order to build the temple.

It added that fundamental groups have stepped-up their provocative acts, and that they are encouraged by the ongoing Israeli violations against the Palestinians, and the demolishing of Palestinian homes in the city.

Several months ago, the institution stated that Jewish extremists placed menorah for the claimed temple in front of the Al-Aqsa mosque. The temple replica was placed just a few meters away from the menorah.

The Foundation called on the Palestinians to flock to the Al-Aqsa mosque to defend it, and protect it from the ongoing violations and the plans to demolish it.
