Kuwaiti MPs to introduce law banning any kind of dealings with Israel

[ 12/10/2009 - 09:47 AM ]

KUWAIT, (PIC)--

Kuwaiti lawmakers declared their intention to introduce a bill in the parliament prohibiting any kind of direct or indirect relations or dealings with the Israeli occupation.

The proposed draft will also ban all governmental bodies, NGOs, dignitaries or ordinary people from conducting any transactions or holding meetings with Israeli parties. It also calls for imposing a ban on traveling to Israel.
In another related context, Kuwaiti political parties and forces expressed their outrage at Mahmoud Abbas’s position against Goldstone’s report which coincided with the Israeli escalation against the Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
This came in a joint statement issued by the Islamic constitutional movement, the Islamic alliance, the Salafi movement, the coalition of justice and peace, Al-Omah party, and the national charter party.
The statement called on teachers, scholars and preachers in Kuwait to raise the awareness of citizens about the Zionist schemes aimed to destroy the Aqsa Mosque, stressing at the same time that the protection of the Mosque is an Islamic worship and a religious duty imposed on every Muslim and not only on the Palestinians.

The statement urged the Kuwaiti government to exercise pressures at the international and Arab level to prosecute Israeli war criminals and to continue the efforts of boycotting Israeli products and merchandise.
It also called on Kuwaiti lawmakers and ministers to create a law criminalizing normalization with Israel and make efforts to fight the international Zionist activities around the world.
