Netanyahu's Speech at UN Full of Lies, Israelis Committed Holocaust Against Palestinians, Says Hamas

Hamas: "Netanyahu's speech, full of lies"

Friday September 25, 2009 10:50 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC News

The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, slammed the Thursday speech of Israeli Prime Minister at the United Nations in New York, and said that the speech is full of lies, and added that the ‘Zionist occupation committed a modern day holocaust against the Palestinian people”.

Hamas spokesperson, Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, stated told the Palestine Information Center on Thursday evening that Netanyahu is trying to justify the massacres in Gaza, and that ‘such lies cannot withhold in front of international reports that confirmed war crimes were carried out against the Palestinians.

Abu Zuhri added that the Israeli claims regarding Hamas’ use of civilians as human shields were proven wrong, and that the Israeli occupation was the side that used the Palestinian civilians as human shields during the offensive.

He also said that Israel’s claims regarding homemade shells fired by the resistance as the cause of the war is an effort to distort reality as the homemade shells came as a natural response to the ongoing Israeli violations.

Abu Zuhri further stated that Palestine is the homeland of the Arabs, the Palestinians and the Muslims, and will never be a Jewish land no matter what.

During his speech at the UN, Netanyahu said that Gaza became ‘a base of Hamas terrorism, supported by Iran”.

The Israeli Prime Minister also demanded the Palestinians to recognize Israel is the homeland of the Jewish people.

Meanwhile, Hamas legislator Mushier Al-Masri, stated that Netanyahu is trying to cover up the massacres his army committed in Gaza, and that he is trying to twist the world logic to gain support for ‘Zionist terrorism”.

It is worth mentioning that the UN report of judge Goldstone accused both Hamas and Israel of violating the International law by firing at civilian areas, and said that some of these violations could constitute war crimes.

Al-Masri added that the United States vetoed more than 50 resolutions that condemn Israel for its violations against the Palestinian people, and that Israel is now mocking the Goldstone report.

Approximately 1600 Palestinians were killed in the three-week war against Gaza which was initiated in late December of last year, thousands of Palestinians were injured; the vast majority of the casualties were civilians, including women, children, elderly and medical teams.

Nine Israelis were killed by Palestinian fire and shells, and four deaths were caused by Israeli 'friendly fire'.
