GAZA, (PIC)-- 

 Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired at a Palestinian man on Friday while he was collecting scrap in the northern Gaza Strip wounding him in the foot, according to Palestinian medical sources.

Adham Abu Silmiyah, medical services spokesman, told the PIC that the victim, who is a resident of the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia, was wounded as a result of the IOF troops opening machinegun fire at Palestinians collecting gravel and scrap metal in the area.

He added that the victim was transferred to the Kamal Odwan hospital and said that his wounds were moderate.

Dozens of Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip were wounded in similar circumstances in what local people believe to be a deliberate policy by the IOF as most of the casualties suffered wounds to their feet.

Many residents of the Gaza Strip find themselves forced to collect gravel and scrap metal as a means of earning a living.

Army Shells Khan Younis

Palestinian sources in the Gaza Strip reported that Israeli occupation soldiers shelled on Thursday evening a number of homes east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation army fired dozens of rounds of live ammunition and a number of shells targeting homes in Al Fakhari area in Khan Younis causing excessive damage.

Border areas in the Gaza Strip are subject to repeated Israeli shelling stemming from military towers and military posts near the border.

IOF troops kill two Palestinians in Gaza, destroy water well in Al-Khalil

GAZA, (PIC)--

Two Palestinians were killed east of Gaza city on Thursday morning after Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired at them, the Israeli radio said.

It added that the two Palestinians approached the security fence and the IOF soldiers fired at and killed them, claiming they were planning an attack on Israeli targets.

In the West Bank, IOF troops stormed a number of villages in Al-Khalil district and destroyed a water well east of Yatta at time the entire district suffers acute water shortage.

The Israeli occupation army claimed that two Palestinians were killed, Thursday morning, when a number of armed fighters attempted to infiltrate into an Israeli settlement, close to the border with Gaza.

A statement issued by the Israeli military claimed that troops fired towards a number of armed Palestinians near the security fence of the northern area of the Gaza Strip, as the men were trying to approach the border " from within the 300 meter buffer zone."

After the attack, the bodies of two men were recovered within the boundaries of Gaza; weapons and explosives were found on the bodies of the two fighters, Israeli Radio reported.

Local sources stressed that a barrage of at least 15 artillery shells were launched by Israeli troops, reaching a nearby farm; damage was reported, no injuries. Later on, the Israeli occupation army conducted a limited invasion into the area, the Maan News Agency reported.

Also on Thursday morning, a Gazan boy, Muhammad Kaware', was killed due to an electrical shock inside one of the siege-busting tunnels in the Rafah district, the southern area of the strip.
