Three international peace activists injured in illegal Israeli settlers' attack in Hebron

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--

Three international solidarity peace activists were injured on Sunday after illegal Israeli settlers assaulted them and threw stones at them east of Al-Khalil (Hebron) city.

A source in the youth against settlement society told the PIC that the masked settlers attacked a peaceful rally protesting the expansion of a settlement outpost in the area.

He added that three activists were hurt including a woman who was carried to a hospital in occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) blocked another rally in Yatta, south of Al-Khalil, that was meant to protest the Israeli declaration of a vast area of a land "a closed military zone".

The IOF soldiers forced a number of shepherds and foreign activists out of the area and prevented journalist from covering the incident.

Israeli occupation soldiers kidnap 11 Palestinians

RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) kidnap eleven Palestinians at the early hours of Monday including nine in Ramallah, local sources reported.

Hebrew daily Yediot Ahronot said that the nine were wanted for interrogation, but did not mention whether they were affiliated with any faction.

IOFs detained two others in Arrabe village, south of Jenin, and stormed the villages of Qabatia, Tobas and Tamun at dawn Monday but no arrests were reported.

Local sources said that the soldiers wreaked havoc in the homes of both detainees and forced their families to the open cold weather.

Illegal Israeli Settlers Attack Iraq Bourin Village, South of Nablus

Israeli occupation forces injured two young men following clashes with illegal Israeli settlers who were attacking the village of Iraq Bourin, south of Nablus on Saturday, according to medical sources.

Ahmed Issam Al-Faqih, 16, sustained an injury to his leg after he was shot with a rubber bullet, medical sources with the Palestinian Red Crescent said. Al-Faqih was taken to Rafedia hospital to undergo treatment for his injuries which were described as moderate.

Nasser Dawood Adel Duqhlus, 18, was lightly injured and treated at the scene, the sources added.

Ghassan Dughlus, official for the settlement file in the West Bank, said that dozens of Yitzhar settlers attacked the village on Saturday afternoon. The Israeli army arrived, he said, and fired tear gas and rubber bullets to those present at the scene.

An Israeli occupation forces spokesman said that several Israeli citizens (a reference to illegal Israeli settlers) and Palestinians in Iraq Burin engaged in "mutual rock throwing" with no injuries reported. Israeli occupation forces were called to the scene and used "riot dispersal means."

The area was then deemed a closed military zone, the spokesman said, adding that a complaint was filled with the DCO relating to a leg injury sustained by a Palestinian.

Illegal Israeli ettlers Attack Nablus Village, Two Youth Wounded By Soldiers

Palestinian medical sources reported on Saturday evening that two Palestinian youths were wounded by Israeli occupation forces fire as soldiers attacked local residents defending themselves from illegal Israeli settlers attacking them near Nablus.

The settlers attacked local villagers of Iraq-Burin village, south of Nablus, in the northern part of the West Bank.

Sources at the Palestinian Red crescent Society reported that Ahmad Isam Al Faqeeh, 16, was wounded by a rubber-coated bullet in his thigh, and was moved to the Rafidia Hospital. His condition was described as light-to-moderate.

Resident Nasr Dawood Duqhlus, 18, was lightly wounded and received treatment by medics at the scene.

The clashes started when dozens of fundamental settlers of the illegal Yitzhar settlement attacked the village and its residents.

Ghassan Dughlus, in Charge of Settlements File in the northern part of the West Bank, stated that after settlers attacked the residents, Israeli soldiers arrived at the scene and fired upon Palestinians instead of removing the settlers who initiated the confrontation.

Iraq-Burin is a small village of nearly 1000 residents in addition to some 600 residents living abroad, most in Jordan and Kuwait. It has 125 homes and the families living there are originally from Burin village. The settlers attacked local villagers of Iraq-Burin village, south of Nablus, in the northern part of the West Bank.

IOG orders two brothers to stop building their homes

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--

The Israeli occupation government (IOG) ordered two Palestinian brothers in Al-Khalil on Sunday to stop building their homes at the pretext they were building without permits.

Local sources told the PIC that the Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) handed the two brothers notifications to the effect, adding that their homes were in the northeastern suburb of the city and fell within its boundaries.

The notification said that construction should halt until 28/1/2010 when the Israeli civil administration decides on the matter.

Statistics indicate that the IOG had delivered notifications to 164 citizens in Al-Khalil district that their homes would be razed and orders to stop building.

Meanwhile, illegal Israeli settlers stormed the main street in Ramallah near the settlement of Halmish and threw stones at the citizens and passing vehicles, locals reported on Sunday.

The IOF troops on Saturday night stormed a number of villages in Al-Khalil and Bethlehem districts and battered a number of citizens one of whom was hospitalized.
