Israeli Occupation Government Deliberately Humiliates Western Figures Wishing to Visit Gaza, Says Ahmed Yousuf

 [ 26/01/2010 - 09:58 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

Dr. Ahmed Yousuf, the advisor to the Palestinian foreign ministry, has charged the Israeli occupation government (IOG) with deliberately humiliating western ministers, MPs and prominent figures who wish to visit the Gaza Strip.

Yousuf, in a press statement on Monday, said that what happened to Belgian minister Charles Michel a few days ago was a glaring proof, adding that Israel does not respect the international or humanitarian laws.

The Israeli occupation authority (IOG) believes that the entry of senior western figures into the Strip would reveal the falsity of its allegations that humanitarian conditions in Gaza were good and there was no suffering and that Hamas was only fabricating such news reports, the advisor elaborated.

He said that the IOG does not want any western party to visit Gaza to get acquainted with facts on the ground, noting that delegations that came via Egypt had conveyed many such scenes of suffering to their countries' political and parliamentary circles.

The IOG image in the western countries was no longer that of a democratic country respecting the international law but rather was one of a hostile state that does not respect the international law and that violates all humanitarian values, Yousuf concluded.

Yousuf: “Occupation Deliberately Tries To Humiliate Figures and Legislators Visiting Gaza”

Tuesday January 26, 2010 10:48 by IMEMC & Agencies

Dr. Ahmed Yousuf, advisor of the Palestinian Foreign Ministry in Gaza, stated that the Israeli occupation government deliberately tries to humiliate international figures and legislators who attempt to visit the Gaza Strip.

He added that what Israel did to the Belgian Development Minister, Charles Michel, by preventing him from entering Gaza is another Israeli violation to the International Law.

Yousuf stated that the occupation believes that allowing international figures into the Gaza Strip would expose its violations in Gaza especially since it is trying to claim that Hamas movement is fabricating the suffering of the residents living under siege and ongoing attacks.

“The Zionist enemy does not want any foreign official or group in Gaza”, Yousuf said, “Visitations by international figures expose Israel’s violations against the civilians”.

The official added that every country knows that Israel does not respect the International law, and that it is an aggressive state”.
