Bahar Meets Nasseruddin Shaqlan and Visiting Algerian Delegation in Gaza

Bahar meets with visiting Algerian delegation in Gaza

[ 13/06/2010 - 08:33 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

Dr. Ahmed Bahar, the first deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council (PLC), on Saturday received the Algerian delegation and hailed their efforts to break the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.

“This good visit demonstrates your faith and determination to get to Gaza as well as the Algerian people’s love for their Palestinian brothers,” Dr. Bahar said during his meeting with the delegation at the PLC headquarters.

The lawmaker stressed that the Movement of Hamas and the elected government will remain unchanged and steadfast sacrificing their leaders and cadres to defend the national cause and the dignity of the Muslim nation.

He also emphasized that Hamas will never give up the national constants and yield to the international quartet’s terms and its pressures.

The lawmaker accused some Arab and Palestinian parties of conferring legitimacy on Israel’s blockade on Gaza and its occupation of Palestine and of attempting to burnish the image of the US in the region, affirming that the government will not accept other alternatives to ending the siege and the reconstruction of Gaza.

For his part, head of the delegation Nasseruddin Shaqlan said that the convoy reflects the size of love that the Algerian people and their government have for the Palestinian people and their legitimate government in Gaza.

The Algerian delegation and their aid convoy managed to enter Gaza on Saturday afternoon through the Rafah border crossing after the Egyptian authorities backtracked on its refusal to allow them in.

The reporter of the Palestinian information center said yesterday that the Egyptian authorities finally allowed the Algerian delegation of 16 people and their truckloads of medicines and baby milk to pass into Gaza.
