Israeli Ruling Party, Likud, Approves Resumption Illegal Settlement Activities, More Theft of Palestinian Lands

Likud Approves Resumption Of Settlement Activities

Saturday June 26, 2010 00:42 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC & Agencies

The Israeli occupation government ruling party, Likud, headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, decided Thursday evening to resume illegal Israeli settlement activities in the Palestinian occupied territories directly after the declared settlement “freeze” expires on September 26.

Some 2,500 senior Likud party leaders and members held a party convention on Thursday evening and issue a statement confirming the resumption of settlement activities directly after September 26.

The statement added that the majority of the votes were for the resumption of settlement construction and expansion.

The Likud statement added that the party supports the construction of settlements in every part “of the land of Israel”, especially in the Negev, the Galilee, “Greater Jerusalem”, and the West Bank.

In order to avoid criticism from the United States, Likud party head, Israeli Prime Minister, Netanyahu, did not participate in the convention. Most of Likud party ministers also refrained from participating in the convention.
