Palestinian medical sources reported Saturday that six Palestinians were killed and twelve were wounded in an explosion that took place in a siege-busting tunnel in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The explosion took place when a propane gas-tank exploded in the tunnel.

Dr. Muawiya Hasanen head of the Emergency Unit at the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, stated that medics managed to locate the bodies of six residents, and rescued twelve others.

The slain residents were identified as Midhat Al-Sha’er, Naji Al-Sha’er, Ashraf Al-Sha’er, two brothers identified as Yasser and Hosni Kawari’, their relative Anwar Kawari’ and
a sixth resident who remain unidentified until the time of this report.

Twelve more residents were hospitalized for treatment, three of them are in serious conditions.
