Palestinian Killed, Dozens Injured, Abducted and Attacked by Israeli Occupation Soldiers and Illegal Settlers

March 24, 2020

Editor's Note:

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of David, Solomon, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

The following news stories are just examples of the Israeli occupation government violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Kill A Young Palestinian Man In Ramallah

March 23, 2020 10:11 AM IMEMC News

Israeli occupation soldiers killed, on Sunday at night, a young Palestinian man near the entrance of Ni’lin village, west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

Medical sources said the soldiers shot Sofian Nawwaf al-Khawaja, 29, causing a very serious injury that resulted in his death shortly afterward.

They added that the soldiers stopped and held a Palestinian ambulance while rushing to render aid to the Palestinian.

Instead of allowing the Palestinian medics to render the urgently needed aid to the critically wounded young man, the soldiers called for an Israeli ambulance while al-Khawaja continued to bleed.

The Israeli occupation army claimed that the soldiers opened fire at several Palestinians who reportedly hurled stones at their jeeps.

However, Palestinian sources said the slain Palestinian was not among the protesters but happened to be passing through the area along with his cousin.

Israeli daily Haaretz quoted a military spokesperson stating that the soldiers opened fire at two Palestinians who were “hurling rocks at Israeli vehicles at the Ni’lin junction,” and added that the soldiers “killed one of them, while the other Palestinian managed to escape.”

Haaretz added that the army initiated a search campaign in the area.

March 24, 2020 12:20 AM IMEMC News

Israeli occupation soldiers abducted, on Monday evening, five Palestinians for disinfecting public facilities near the Lion’s Gate, leading to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the occupied Palestinian capital, Jerusalem.

Eyewitnesses said the soldiers abducted the Palestinians in the al-Ghazali Square, in Bab Al-Asbat (Lion’s Gate), while they were disinfecting public facilities as a precaution amidst the spread of Coronavirus.

They added that the soldiers took the four Palestinians to a Police station in the Hebron Gate area, in Jerusalem’s Old City.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Abduct Three Palestinians In Qalqilia

March 23, 2020 11:15 AM IMEMC News

Israeli occupation soldiers abducted, Monday, three Palestinian men in Qalqilia governorate, in northern West Bank, after invading and violently searching their homes, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has reported.

The PPS said the soldiers invaded and ransacked homes in Sniria village, south of Qalqilia, before abducting ‘Ala Sadeq Omar, 38, and Mamdouh al-Barri, 26.

It added that the soldiers also invaded and searched homes in Azzoun town, east of Qalqilia, and abducted Mahmoud Ghannawi, 40.

On Sunday evening, the soldiers abducted five Palestinians, including children, in Jerusalem and Salfit.

The frequent abduction of Palestinian civilians, by Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank, is part of the Israeli policy to crack down on those who reject and resist the decades-long military occupation of the Palestinian territories.

Since the signing of the Oslo peace accords between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in 1993, the issue of Palestinian prisoners has remained an integral part of Palestinian-Israeli peace talks.

However, Israel continues to detain Palestinians in the West Bank, as the number of Palestinians, held in Israeli jails, stand at almost 5,0000 including dozens of women and teenagers.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Hold Four Palestinian Youths at Jenin Checkpoint

March 23, 2020 1:55 AM Rami Almeghari  IMEMC News

Israeli occupation soldiers, on Sunday morning, held four Palestinian youths at an Israeli military roadblock, near Dutan colonial settlement, near Jenin city, in the northern occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Sources and witnesses told media outlets that Israeli soldiers, stationed at the checkpoint, held four Palestinian youths after having inspected them, along with many other local Palestinian vehicles.

Freedom of movement for many local Palestinians was obstructed for a number of hours, the youths were not identified at the time of reporting.

Israeli inspection of Palestinian civilians and vehicles is a daily occurrence throughout the entire occupied West Bank, with dozens of Israeli colonial settlements, erected illegally on Palestinian-owned lands, according to a number of United Nations’ resolutions.

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights recorded a number of violations of Palestinian rights, as seen in the weekly report. PCHR reports that Israeli occupation forces use permanent checkpoints, and closed roads, and erect temporary checkpoints in the West Bank, restricting the movement of goods and individuals, as well as denying civilians’ access to their work. Israeli forces established 29 temporary checkpoints between March 12 and March 18, 2020, where they searched Palestinians’ vehicles and checked their IDs.

March 21, 2020 11:04 PM Rami Almeghari  IMEMC News

Israeli occupation soldiers reportedly shot and wounded, on Friday, a Palestinian teenaged boy in the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, local Palestinian sources reported.

Sources told media outlets that Israeli troops, positioned on the northern checkpoint of Qalqilia, opened fire indiscriminately on a group of Palestinian youths.

The Israeli army fire came in response to protests by local youths, near the Israeli army checkpoint.

Medical sources reported that the Darweesh Nazzal hospital in Qalqilia, received a wounded teen boy on Friday afternoon, his injury was described as moderate.

Protests by local Palestinian youths, across the West Bank, are reported frequently under the protracted Israeli occupation of the West Bank.

Many of those protests are said to be in reaction to various Israeli measures, including abductions, checkpoints, daily harassment and an increase in Israeli military presence in Palestinian civilian areas.

Israeli Bulldozers Raze Palestinian Farm Lands Near Nablus

March 24, 2020 4:50 PM Rami Almeghari

Israeli army bulldozers, on Tuesday morning, began razing Palestinian-owned farm lands in the occupied West Bank village of Jaloud, south of Nablus city, local Palestinian sources reported.

Chief of Israeli colonial settlements file in northern West Bank, Ghassan Daghlas, told local media outlets that the new bulldozing started in area 13, known as the ‘Pats’ site. Daghlas noted that the Jaloud village is already surrounded by a number of illegal colonial settlements, mainly on the eastern and western sides of the village.

“The bulldozing by the Israeli army, earlier today, comes following remarks by Israeli defense minister, Naftali Bennet, in which he announced his government’s plans to expand the Shevout Rachile colonial settlement, to five times it’s current size, as well as connecting the Shilo and Shevout Rachile colonies with other colonies,” Daghlas said.

Daghlas added that large areas of the village itself has been illegally seized by the Shevout Rachile and Shilo, Aadi Aad, Kodish, Keda and Ahya colonial settlements, stating that all such colonial settlements pose a real danger to the Arab-Palestinian landscape, and more importantly threatening the very existence of the Palestinian people.

“Israeli occupation government has taken over around 2,500 acres of Palestinian-owned farm lands from the Jaloud village and then declared that 85% of the village’s lands are closed military zones, designated for the protection of illegal settlers in the aforementioned settlements. The 85% constitutes about 1,500 acres of farm lands.” Daghlas maintained.

Israel’s colonial settlement activities began in late 1970’s in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.In 2005, Israel disengaged unilaterally from the Gaza Strip and dismantled 17 illegal settlements, then subsequently imposed the still ongoing blockade of the tiny coastal territory, in 2007.

According to the United Nations Security Council’s (UNSC) resolutions 242 and 338, clearly demand that Israel immediately withdraw from the West Bank and Gaza Strip, which Israeli illegally occupied in June of 1967.

Illegal Israeli Settlers Attack A Young Man In Northern Plains, Homes In Nablus

March 24, 2020 12:55 AM IMEMC News

Several fanatic illegal Israeli settlers attacked, on Monday evening, a Palestinian shepherd in Ein al-Hilwa area, in the West Bank’s Northern Plains, and attacked many homes in Madama village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Palestinian human rights activist, Aref Daraghma, said several colonists assaulted a young shepherd while herding his cows in Ein al-Hilwa.

Daraghma added that the young man, identified as Moheeb Fathi Daraghma, suffered several minor cuts and bruises.

Also on Monday evening, a group of colonists attacked homes in the southern area of Madama village, south of Nablus.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian Authority official who monitors Israel’s illegal colonialist activities in northern West Bank, said the assailants came from Yitzhar colony, which was built on Palestinian lands south of Nablus, and added that the locals intercepted them, and forced them away.

Illegal Israeli Settlers Vandalized 1600 Palestinian-Owned Trees This Year

March 23, 2020 10:42 AM Ali Salam IMEMC News

Nearly 1,600 trees have been vandalized by illegal Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank since the start of 2020, according to United Nations OCHA.

According to the agency’s latest report, during the period 3-16 March, Israeli settlers vandalized at least 385 Palestinian-owned trees and vehicles in the West Bank.

Three such attacks involved settlers cutting down or uprooting some 200 olive trees and 150 grapevines “belonging to farmers from Al Khader and Khallet Sakariya villages that are planted next to the Gush Etzion settlement area (Bethlehem), and 35 olive trees next to Bruchin settlement (Salfit)”.

Meanwhile, five additional attacks in the Nablus governorate, in northern West Bank, “involved slashing the tires of 11 vehicles in Huwwara town, hurling stones and damaging two houses and four vehicles in ‘Einabus village, and vandalizing an uninhabited house in Burin village.”

In addition, UN OCHA stated, Palestinian residents of the ‘Ein ar Rashash herding community near Ramallah, in central West Bank, reported 25 lambs “stolen by a settler residing in an adjacent settlement outpost”.

On top of the numerous incidents of attacks on Palestinian-owned property and livestock, Israeli settlers “physically assaulted and injured three Palestinians”, including a woman, in three separate incidents in Al Auja town and the Israeli-controlled area of Hebron city (H2), in southern West Bank.

“Additional settler attacks not resulting in injuries or damage were reported in the H2 area on 10 and 11 March, during celebrations of a Jewish holiday (Purim),” the UN OCHA report added.

The UN OCHA report is issued once a fortnight, and documents human rights violations by Israeli forces and settlers, and the impact of occupation for Palestinians.

Over the reporting period, UN OCHA documented the punitive demolition of two homes, as well as the demolition or seizing of an additional 14 Palestinian-owned structures on the grounds of a lack of building permits, displacing 29 people and affecting around 60 others.

Israeli occupation forces also “bulldozed a section of a dirt road connecting five herding communities in southern Hebron to their main service center”, meaning that “residents must use a long detour to access their main service center and market in Yatta town”.

Israeli Police Allow Illegal Israeli Settlers Into Al-Aqsa Mosque, Restrict Muslim Presence

March 23, 2020 12:23 AM Rami Almeghari IMEMC News

Dozens of illegal Israeli settlers, belonging to the Temple Mount group, on Sunday morning, stormed the vicinity of the Islamic holy shrine of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem..

Witnesses told media outlets that the group of illegal settlers performed provocative rituals before leaving through the Bab Alselsela gate used by Palestinian-Muslim residents.

Israeli occupation government police force escorted the illegal settlers, while also restricting entry of Muslim Palestinian worshippers into the sacred Islamic compound.

The Temple Mount group had previously called on Israeli colonists to perform rituals at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, also known as the Al-Haram Ash-Sharīf, widely agreed to be an Islamic holy place.

New measures of the Israeli occupation authorities’ efforts to fight the now internationally-spread, Coronavirus, are claimed to be the reason for the tightened restrictions. High fines have been threatened only against Palestinian locals and scholars, allegedly to avoid the assembly of large numbers of people, however the Israelis are not subject to the same rules.

In September 2000, late Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, invaded, along with almost 3000 Israelis, including Jews, police forces and officials, stormed the holy shrine, which sparked the second Palestinian Intifada (uprising) otherewise known as the Al-Aqsa Intifada, which took the lives of 3,000 Palestinians over a 5 year period.

In the last 2 decades, Israelis and illegal settlers have regularly stormed the Muslim holy site with the protection of Israeli police and performed rituals, which are forbidden. Israelis who wish to pray near the mosque have a designated area for prayer, known among Muslims as the Buraq Wall, know by Jews as the Wailing Wall.

On Sunday, the Palestinian Waqf council announced the decision to suspend all Muslim prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, starting Monday at dawn, until further notice.
