Palestinian factions warn US proposal would enforce ‘regulated occupation’ in Gaza

Monday 17-November-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

Palestinian political factions and senior leaders are warning that a US-backed draft resolution to deploy an international force in Gaza risks creating a “regulated occupation” under United Nations cover, reshaping the Strip’s political future while ignoring Palestinian rights.

The draft resolution, expected to be put to a vote at the UN Security Council, has triggered sharp criticism from Islamic Jihad Deputy Secretary-General Mu'hammad El-Hindi and from a coalition of Palestinian resistance factions.

El-Hindi told Al Jazeera Mubasher that the proposal “lays the foundations for a legalized occupation” by allowing the US to assume direct influence over Gaza’s future. He said the current language uses “vague and elastic terms” designed to appease Arab and Islamic states but offering no real protection for Palestinians.

He warned that the resolution threatens to create new “rules of engagement” that could lead to dividing Gaza or isolating it from the Palestinian national landscape. Washington’s references to a Palestinian state, he added, remain “ambiguous” and provide no guarantees for linking Gaza with the West Bank.

El-Hindi stressed that no international force should replace the Israeli occupation inside Gaza, noting that an undefined mission could quickly become a “peace council performing the duties of a regulated occupation.” He added that most states have already shown no willingness to participate because the proposal lacks clarity on roles, responsibilities and structure.

He confirmed that Islamic Jihad has sent detailed objections to mediators and Security Council members, warning that passing the resolution could impose new security and administrative arrangements outside Palestinian control.

Separately, Palestinian resistance factions issued a joint statement calling on regional and international actors, particularly Algeria, which is a current Security Council member and which they praised for its historic support, to oppose the US plan. They described the initiative as an attempt to impose a new form of foreign guardianship over Gaza’s future under the pretext of stabilization.

The factions insisted that any foreign force, regardless of name or mandate, constitutes a violation of Palestinian sovereignty and prolongs the suffering of the people in Gaza.

They argued that true security can only be achieved by ending the occupation, lifting the siege, and respecting Palestinians’ inherent right to self-determination.

The groups urged Arab and Islamic nations, along with global civil society, to reject “any formula of guardianship or external intervention” and defend Gaza’s right to freedom, dignity and independence.

The UN vote is scheduled for Monday amid widening international disagreement over the purpose of the proposed force, and whether it would help halt the genocide or open a new chapter of regional confrontation inside Gaza.

Palestinian National Commission: No to international trusteeship… No to new colonialism

Monday 17-November-2025

Link copied! + -

ISTANBUL, (PIC)

The National Commission for Palestinian Popular Action has affirmed its unequivocal rejection of the United States’ proposal to place the Gaza Strip under international trusteeship through the creation of a transitional administration imposed outside the will of the Palestinian people.

“Such an arrangement, assuming control over security, reconstruction, and civil affairs, constitutes a blatant violation of our people’s right to self-determination and a renewed attempt to reintroduce forms of colonial domination under updated labels,” it added in a statement on Sunday.

The Commission stressed that any arrangements concerning Gaza must arise from the Palestinian people themselves, in a manner that safeguards their inalienable historical rights, preserves the unity of land and people, and upholds the legitimacy of resistance and its rightful struggle, foremost among them the right to freedom, resistance, and self-determination guaranteed under international law.

While the Commission recognizes that a strictly limited international presence may be tasked solely with monitoring a ceasefire and protecting civilians, it insists that such a force must remain narrowly mandated, fully impartial, and expressly prohibited from taking on any administrative or political role. Under no circumstances may it evolve into a disguised trusteeship or an alternative authority on the ground.

It further emphasized that any future arrangements must not contradict the international norms and conventions that guarantee the rights of peoples living under occupation, particularly their right to freedom and self-determination, and that all externally imposed alternatives, regardless of the terminology used, are categorically rejected.

The Commission called on all Palestinian political, institutional, and popular actors to openly declare their complete rejection of any form of external trusteeship and to refrain from engaging with such proposals, directly or indirectly, in order to preserve the unity and independence of national decision-making.

It also urged Palestinian communities everywhere, including their institutions, organizations, unions, public figures, and national leaders, to express their rejection of these attempts at trusteeship and renewed colonialism through every available peaceful, popular, legal, and media avenue, reflecting the unity and resilience of the national position.

The Commission finally reaffirmed its commitment to unified popular action in defense of the rights of the Palestinian people, in rejection of all forms of trusteeship, and in support of their resistance and steadfastness until full freedom is achieved.

The statement was issued on Sunday evening by The National Commission for Palestinian Popular Action, which includes the Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad, The Palestinian National Conference, The Popular Palestinian Conference, The Palestinian Federation in Latin America, and independent Palestinian figures, at conclusion of their conference in Istanbul.

International probe uncovers mysterious network moving Palestinians abroad under humanitarian evacuation cover

Monday 17-November-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

An international investigation has opened a case into a little-known group called “Al-Majd Europe” after it organized flights relocating Palestinians from Gaza to South Africa, amid growing suspicions of human trafficking disguised as humanitarian work. The findings were revealed in a televised investigation by Al Jazeera English.

The report raises serious concerns about the organization, which presents itself as a humanitarian group but is believed to be involved in questionable and potentially illegal operations.

According to the investigation, Al-Majd Europe chartered a flight on 13 November carrying 153 Palestinians from Gaza to Johannesburg, its second such transfer within two weeks, at a time when the enclave faces siege, famine-level conditions, and near-total destruction.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa told Al Jazeera his government was “surprised” by the arrival. “These are people from Gaza who somehow ended up on a plane that passed through Nairobi and landed here,” he said. “I heard about it from the interior minister.”

He added that when asked how to respond, he told the minister, “We cannot send them back. They lack proper documentation, but they come from a place torn by war and suffering. Out of compassion, we must receive them.”

Passengers told investigators the plane departed from Israel after they were transported there from Gaza. They said they applied online and each paid $5,000 for the journey.

The investigation found that Al-Majd Europe operates through a website registered in Iceland, offering what it calls “humanitarian evacuation.” Regulatory bodies in South Africa are now examining who is behind the flights, how they are funded, and whether the operations meet legal standards, especially after several red flags emerged.

The group reportedly accepts donations only in cryptocurrency, making financial tracking extremely difficult. Images of supposed senior staff on its website were identified as AI-generated, further deepening doubts about the entity’s legitimacy.

The organization did not respond to repeated requests for comment.

Investigators are now probing whether the flights were used to move people illegally, exploiting the humanitarian catastrophe caused by Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

The report also highlights the challenges regulators face when monitoring organizations operating in conflict zones, especially those using advanced digital tools such as artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency, which can facilitate deception and hinder oversight.

The case has fueled broader concerns about how humanitarian crises can be exploited when international monitoring is weak, and about the urgent need for stronger global mechanisms to prevent trafficking and abuse under the guise of aid work.

GRC: The Israeli destruction of Gaza’s healthcare system killed 10,000 Patients

Sunday 16-November-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Gaza Rights Center (GRC) said that the Israeli occupation army’s systematic destruction of the healthcare infrastructure in the Gaza Strip during the war have led to the deaths of 10,000 Palestinian patients.

In a statement on Sunday, GRC explained that these patients died due their failure to receive medical treatment in Gaza, with 1,000 of them losing their lives over the past 25 months after being refused permission to travel abroad for medical care.

GRC urged the international community to take immediate action to pressure Israel to lift its restrictions, open border crossings, ensure freedom of movement, and allow the delivery of essential supplies to Gaza’s hospitals.

“Thousands of patients in the Gaza Strip are struggling for survival as their health rapidly deteriorates. The collapse of the healthcare system, lack of essential equipment and medicine, and the continued closure of the Rafah crossing, compounded by Israeli-imposed travel restrictions, are preventing access to life-saving treatment,” GRC said.

Israeli occupation army continues ceasefire violations in Gaza, refuses to allow in tents

Sunday 16-November-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

For the 37th consecutive day, the Israeli occupation army has continued to carry out attacks, ground incursions, and home demolitions in southern Gaza. These repeated violations of the truce have intensified the hardships faced by the population.

On Sunday morning, the Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of attacks in southern Gaza, including airstrikes, gunfire, and demolition of homes.

Local sources reported that Israeli warplanes launched air raids southeast of Khan Younus, accompanied by artillery shelling and gunfire from military vehicles east of the city.

Heavy gunfire was also reported northeast of Rafa'h, where Israeli forces conducted a large-scale demolition operation in the northern part of the city, alongside artillery shelling in the west.

The sources added that Israeli armored vehicles opened intense fire towards the tents of displaced families in El-Mawasi area of Rafa'h.

Helicopters also bombed areas in northern Rafa'h, behind the yellow line near the border.

In a related context, Gaza’s civil defense service has warned that Israeli occupation authority still refuses to allow the entry of new tents into the Strip, leaving thousands of displaced families exposed to harsh weather.

In a statement on Sunday, the civil defense service said that the aid received so far amounts to less than 15 percent of the population’s basic needs.

It added that “the acute shortage of resources is severely limiting its ability to respond to the growing number of emergency calls, especially as the harsh weather conditions compound the suffering of displaced families living in fragile, makeshift shelters.”

WHO: Over 900 Gazans died while awaiting urgent medical evacuation

Sunday 16-November-2025

GENEVA, (PIC)

More than 900 Palestinians, including children, have died in Gaza while awaiting urgent medical evacuation, the World Health Organization (WHO) has said.

Speaking from Geneva recently, WHO director-general Tedros Ghebreyesus said that about 16,500 patients, among them 4,000 children, are still in critical need of transfer to hospitals outside the Strip.

Ghebreyesus warned that every day of delay amounts to “a death sentence for the most vulnerable,” as Gaza remains sealed off from the outside world despite a declared ceasefire.

In a related context, the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) intends to deport Palestinian patients from Gaza, who are currently receiving treatment in hospitals in Jerusalem, along with their companions and children born in the city, to an undisclosed location on Monday, according to Palestinian media reports on Sunday.

The decision targets patients who are still at al-Makassed Hospital, Augusta Victoria Hospital, and nearby hotels.

Their deportation is scheduled for 5:00 a.m. tomorrow and will be carried out using buses escorted by military vehicles.

Palestinian sources voiced deep concern over the safety of these patients and the conditions of their transfer, urging human rights organizations, the Red Cross, and competent Palestinian authorities to intervene immediately.

They called for urgent action to ensure the protection of the patients, children, and their companions from any potential risks.

Palestinian killed, two injured by IOF gunfire in Al-Fari’a Refugee Camp

Sunday 16-November-2025

WEST BANK, (PIC)

Three Palestinian young men were shot and injured by Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) on Sunday evening as clashes erupted in Al-Fari’a refugee camp, south of Toubas city. The Israeli occupation forces later announced that it had fatally shot a Palestinian youth with live ammunition in the refugee camp.

The Palestinian Red Crescent stated briefly that it had received reports of a number of casualties in the camp, but Israeli forces were preventing its teams from reaching the scene.

The organization added that coordination was underway with the International Committee of the Red Cross to ensure that ambulance teams could access the injured.

Later, the Red Crescent reported that it treated a 16-year-old boy who was wounded by IOFs shrapnel, and field medical care was being administered.

Local sources confirmed that another 18-year-old teen sustained shrapnel injuries from IOFs gunfire and was transported to the Turkish Hospital in Toubas for treatment.

The sources also reported that Israeli forces detained the third injured individual, though the extent of his injuries remains unknown.

Clashes erupted after Israeli occupation forces stormed the camp, prompting youth to confront them with stones. In response, the soldiers opened their machine gun fire.

IOFs West Bank raids, settler attack in El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) reported

Local sources reported that settlers threw stones at Palestinian homes and property, terrifying children and women in the area.

El-Tibna community has experienced a series of settler assaults in recent weeks. The most recent included the use of loudspeakers during the night and driving off-road vehicles near residents’ shelters, part of ongoing harassment aimed at forcibly displacing its residents.

"Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32).

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.
